Latin
The fifth grade Latin curriculum offers students an experience in Latin that is both comprehensive and interactive. Roman and Greek cultures are used as a context to introduce the study and usage of the Latin language. Latin grammatical structure is stressed as well as linguistic connections to English and other modern languages. The course introduces students to Latin vocabulary and grammar and gives them experience with an inflected language. Time is also spent working on derivatives and parts of speech. Students study many areas of classical culture, such as Greek and Roman mythology, history, geography, government, art, and architecture.
All core content classes meet for 45-minute blocks five days per week.
