PPA
Welcome to the Powhatan Parents’ Association! All Powhatan parents are members of the PPA and are encouraged to become involved in any way they can, by attending meetings, by volunteering on one of the many PPA committees, by participating in a fundraiser, or by sharing their ideas and expertise in the classroom. The following links contain important information, describing the many facets of the PPA.
What is the PPA?
The Powhatan Parents Association plays an important role in the life of Powhatan School. Its mission is to encourage communication, conduct fundraising and “fun”raising events, support educational programs, and provide volunteer support. The Powhatan Parents Association represents all parents in our school.
When are the PPA meetings held?
The Parents Association tentatively meets every second Wednesday of the month alternating mornings and afternoons at Powhatan.
What are the PPA’s major annual activities & fund raisers?
The Parents Association sponsors two major fundraising events – The Rummage Sale and The Spring Bid Auction. Both events rely heavily on volunteers. The success of the Auction and Rummage Sale rests in the parents’ hands and the results of that success directly benefit each child attending Powhatan.
